Welcome to the JAN 2022 release of Better Commerce. There are several updates in this version that we hope you will like, some of the key highlights include: 


Highlights

  1. Account portal: The account portal is an effective management of user accounts that helps you create, edit ,delete and manage much more. The platform also gives you the control to define roles and assign them to the users. From security point of view ability to reset the passwords, autogenerate in regular intervals are few key features of the account portal.

  2. Customer group: You can classify customers into different groups by using the Customer Groups feature, that is one of the good features out of many in this release. Customer groups allow you to organize your customers, give them discounts, and restrict access to specific pricing and shipping methods.

  3. Inventory list grid: The inventory listing screen now has a new grid view which is faster, better looking with an option to show and hide columns of your choice.

  4. Brand and  Category filter on PO  screen: The purchase order list page now shows extra filters based on category and brands for you to be able to drill down the list the way you want.

  5. 3-Decimal place calculation: When product price has decimal values, a multi-line order calculation can end up having differences in calculation. To fix this concern complete order total calculation has been done at 3 decimal places to cover maximum value so that a long order doesn’t end up showing a big difference.

  6. New predefined views: The customer list screen now has multiple predefined views that gives you access to desired and meaningful data in just one click.


eCommerce Enhancements

  1. Ability to cancel an order until dispatched: Order cancellation is very common business activity in online retailing hence the provision to cancel order lines until the status is dispatched has been added in the platform. When an item or the whole order is cancelled, subsequent actions are taken automatically by the platform like, issuing a refund , updating the picklist, invoice and shipping label.
  2. 3-decimal place calculation: When product price has decimal values, a multi-line order calculation can end up having differences in calculation. To fix this concern complete order total calculation has been done at 3 decimal places to cover maximum value so that a long order doesn’t end up showing a big difference.

  3. Add a sub brand: This release adds a new enhancement in the PIM wherein you can add a sub brand. The UI is very simple and you are just required to give a name and link it to a parent brand.


  4. Remove attribute value: Based on the requirement and different use case, this release gives you the power to un-assign an attribute value from a product.

  5. 3-level mega menu: The mega menu has been enhanced to allow one more level of navigation block giving you more flexibility and control over navigation display on your website.

OMS Enhancements

  1. Cancelled Order List: A new interface has been added that displays all the cancelled orders. An order or part of the order can be cancelled at any point in time until it has been dispatched, the new screen captures this and displays it.

  2. Ability to multi-select and pack orders: Until this release there were only two options, either pack single order or all from the list however, this release brings to you an option to selectively pack the orders.
     
  3. Packing box UI change: UI for the packing box section has been improved to give user a better and neater experience.

  4. PO review screen optimization: For the backorders and dropship orders the PO review screen has been optimized for faster loading, filtering, and search.

  5. Inventory List Grid: The inventory listing screen now has a new grid view which is faster, better looking with an option to show and hide columns of your choice. It also has an export feature that allows you to export all or selected values.
  6. Brand and  Category filter on PO screen: The purchase order listing page now shows extra filters based on category and brands for you to be able to drill down the list the way you want. This will help users to filter out the data of choice and take the next action.


Notable Bug fixes

  1. Inventory Pool: The inventory pool screen doesn't require a reload to view the changed data. The page automatically fetches the pool configuration every time you want to have a look at one of the pools configured in the system.

  2. Packing box : In this release, the packer gets a better way of managing packing box info. If an item is big enough that will take multiple boxes to pack, packer can simply increase the qty of boxes and select the dimensions accordingly.

  3. Resolving Exception and cancelled lines in the same order: In a particular case, when one of the items from an item has been cancelled and one of the items have been sent to exception waiting for the delivery, the challenge around resolving the exception has been handled in this release.

  4. Validate storage capacity: Whenever a return of GRN is done its imperative to validate if the storage's capacity hasn't exceeded before system proposes the bin where the items should be allocated.

  5. B2B Improvements: To improve the B2B experience few improvements have been made while creating quotes, and permissions have been defined for different company users.

  6. Invoice attachment in email: Normally B2B orders use account credit of the customers to complete the order. Such orders didn’t attach invoice in the order confirmation email. This has been released as an improvement to an existing feature.

  7. PIM: In the process of product creation if you want to link existing stock codes as a part of variants, the identified issue has been rectified in this release. Also, in the domain tab in the product detail view of a variant/child product, the view has been improved to give a clear picture of all the variants with their configurations.
  8. Settings screen: Sorting option and default sort by option has been added in the merchanting section for the users to be able to merchandise their site in a much better way.

  9. Look book: The display order of the lookbook can now be saved quite easily by a simple drag and drop and displayed accordingly on the website. This gives more control over the display of the lookbooks on the site.
  10. Page scheduler: A page can be scheduled with start date and no expiry date. Any conflicting schedule is automatically handled. The 2nd page with a new start date automatically overrides the 'never expire' settings of the previous page.
