Check out exciting new product updates for the month of June 2022! We've introduced new features, enhanced existing functionalities, and made a few performance improvements. Some of the key highlights include:


Highlights

  1. Exclude 'Full Price' products from a promotion: Promotion feature has been enhanced to take an extra flag from the user 'Exclude Full Price'. This allows you to create a promotion and exclude products that are being sold at full price.

  2. Microsoft SSO: In this change you would see a white background login page with a Microsoft sign-in button. MS SSO will allow O365 users to login using their Microsoft credentials. This will allow our customers flexibility & simplicity to use the O365 authentication with MFA and save them the hassle of creating another user account.

  3. Improved security in the platform: The better commerce platform continuously works on improving its security feature and this release witnesses multiple improvement in this area.

  4. Preview unpublished products: Preview of a product is a very useful feature as it gives the merchandiser a look and feel of the product even before it gets accessible to the end users. This change will allow users to preview a product even before it is published.

  5. Bug Fixes: In addition to the new features, optimizations & enhancements, there have been few bug fixes reported internally by the quality team or from the customers using the platform. We highly prioritize the bugs based on the criticality and the impact, and fix them so that business stays un-impacted. The list of all the bug fixes have been listed below in this article.

     



eCommerce Enhancements

  1. Improved validation in add/edit customer & company forms: The add and edit screen of customer and company now have better validation and display that makes the user's job easier by displaying appropriate messages.

  2. Exclude 'Full Price' products from a promotion: Promotion feature has been enhanced to take an extra flag from the user 'Exclude Full Price'. This allows you to create a promotion and exclude products that are being sold at full price. This comes as a handy feature when a business wants to run a promotion yet wants to sell the products(non marked-down) without any discount.

  3. Microsoft SSO: In this change you would see a white background login page with a Microsoft sign-in button. MS SSO will allow O365 users to login using their Microsoft credentials. This will allow our customers, flexibility & simplicity to use the O365 authentication with MFA and save them the hassle of creating another user account.


  4. Interface to monitor stuck index process: A new screen has been implemented for the product team to monitor the index process running in the background. This visibility will be very handful when large data is being processed and there is any queue that gets stuck. Such instances can be picked and manually prioritized to process faster. This is primarily for the product and the tech. team.

  5. Preview unpublished products: Preview of a product is a very useful feature as it gives the merchandiser a look and feel of the product even before it gets accessible to the end users. This change will allow users to preview a product even before it is published.

  6. Improved security in the platform: The better commerce platform continuously works on improving its security feature and this release witnesses multiple improvement in this area. From Insecure user access provisioning to application vulnerable to privilege escalation and unwanted data exposure have been taken care of in this.

  7. Ability to add shipping zone: While setting up shipping methods, in case a new zone needs to be added, this UI improvement gives you a direct link to go to zones screen and add a new one.
  8. Enhanced image management: The webpages created using the CMS page builder now uses the web images that has significantly improved the load performance of the page.


OMS Enhancements

  1. Improved Performance: The orders in the OMS listing screens are now fetched from a more efficient, organized and lighter database. This performance improvement has made a significant change in the load time.

  2. Enhanced Shipping rule: The shipping rule condition has a new addition in the rule called 'Zone'. This is a very useful extension in this section as it allows users to setup a rule of shipping by defining conditions around a particular zone. A shipping zone consists of multiple postcodes. The zones can be created within the platform and excluded or included for a particular shipping based on different services provided by your carrier partner.


Notable Bug fixes
  1. Stocker App in-consistent scanning behavior on Android 11 and above: The android upgrade caused the bar-code scanning to work bit inconsistently hence the required library change has made it possible to scan multiple variations of the bar-codes consistently. 

  2. Returns using the Stocker app: When an RMA is processed it updates the inventory however, in exceptional cases it didn't update the inventory and the logs correctly.The root-cause was the UI allowing user to hit an action button multiple times wherein just a single click is required. This has been fixed and now under no circumstances user can accidentally make any mistake in updating the RMA.

  3. Search Issues:  The search settings like searchandising, keyword redirection and synonym dictionary have been enhanced to display better visibility of the captured data and also the add form has more validations than before to restrict users from entering incorrect values.

  4. Auto-populate address from saved addresses : When a post code has been provided by the customer on the basket page, the checkout page now validates the post code against the saved addresses in the address book and auto populates the qualifying address.

  5. Duty charges : While creating a product the advanced pricing info takes an input called 'duty charge' which wasn't getting reflected after the product gets saved. This has now been fixed. 

  6. Improved Caching: When different activities are performed like color group creation, new attribute creation or editing of an attribute set, it didn't reflect until cache was cleaned explicitly. This has been handled in a way that no explicit cache cleaning is required.
